Belgium had just lost late on to France in the Round of 16 at Euro 2024 when Kevin De Bruyne was asked by a journalist whether it hurt that Belgian's 'golden generation' had never reached a major final. De Bruyne appeared annoyed at the concept only being applied to Belgium, and highlighted other countries, before he was heard to mutter the word 'stupid' as he left the media zone.
