Effortless presence of Cesc Fàbregas makes his mark at Arsenal once again | Barney Ronay

The Chelsea playmaker is back in the thoughts of Antonio Conte and making the most of the situation
For the opening 55 minutes at the Emirates this was a bitty, fun meandering game, an odd mix of superb moments of skill, bruising collisions and clodhopping errors. From a Chelsea point of view there will be regrets that their period of dominance was not converted into goals; and that a performance of often sublime playmaking on the left of midfield from Cesc Fàbregas was not rewarded with greater incision in front of goal from a team that, right now, really do lack a shark-like finisher to complement their moments of brilliance on the ball.
These came not least from Fàbregas, who passed the ball not just better than anyone else but also with a style and grace that came from a different place altogether. With better finishing from Tiémoué Bakayoko (three times) and Álvaro Morata, the Spaniard would have had four impossibly dreamy assists in an hour on the pitch.
