Chesterfield FC Women won 1-0 at Arnold Eagles following a dramatic late winner. Manager Andrea Parkinson made two changes to the side as Holland and George were absent. In came Lee for her full debut and Lilleyman. Boston was in the squad after signing this week from the Football & Education programme. U16 player Brook was also named in the squad. The Spireites started the game well, creating early chances. Arnold grew into the game and Carroll made a good save down at the striker’s feet to keep the game level. The first half of the game was more of a midfield battle with limited chances created. In the second half, the Spireites kept the intensity high and applied some pressure, with efforts from Lilleyman, Clarkson, Pinkney and Townsend. There were three changes made in the second half with seniors debuts for. Murphy, Brook and Boston. The Spireites kept the pressure on and were awarded a series of corners. With just seconds remaining, Delaney struck the ball well, slotting it in the bottom corner of the net. Up next is Grimsby Town away.
