Manager reflects on victory for Chesterfield FC Women

The women’s team returned to winning ways this weekend with a 1-0 win over Arnold Eagles in the East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League north division on Sunday afternoon. Manager Andrea Parkinson gave her thoughts on the game after her side scored a last-gasp winner: “To be honest, the result was coming. We’ve been playing well over the last couple of weeks but been on the wrong side of the result. “Sunday was really good. I said at the start, as part of the team talk, just be consistent for 90 minutes and they were. “We dominated the game and had a couple of half-chances, but if you look at the game as a whole, it was probably more of a midfield battle. “We literally scored with seconds left on the clock. You could see the relief from the players, the celebrations were amazing. “I’m really proud. Training has been really good over the last few weeks and I’ve mentioned in past interviews about the importance of being consistent and that showed on Sunday. “I stood back and watched the players celebrate and you could tell what it meant to them to get the win. “That feeling of when the […]
