Throughout the 2024/25 campaign, some supporters may have noticed a change to our social media graphics on matchday…
In the latest edition of HQ Magazine, we caught up with Social Media Executive, Conor Cullen – who has been putting his own unique twist on our ‘matchday graphics’ and the talent behind our Pac-Man inspired HQ Magazine cover!
Eagle-eyed supporters will have noticed a recurring theme on the Club’s first social media post of the day on matchday – ‘The Matchday Graphic’. This season, each graphic has been based on videogame covers from years gone by – from Playstation to Nintendo and everything in between, each graphic has a Hibs adaptation, an idea spearheaded and designed by Conor! He explains:
“As a media team, we sat down and agreed we wanted to have a theme and structure to our matchday graphics. We wanted to have some consistency and we thought it would be fun to have a specific theme based around the matchday graphic.
“A few clubs down south have done something similar with CDs or album covers and we thought we could give videogame covers a try.
“We quickly realised you can have a lot of fun with them and make them Hibs-specific – that is what makes the graphics really stand out and make them unique to us as a Club.
“It is just a bit of fun, to be honest, but it helps build a bit of anticipation for the game, and I have loved the nostalgia of researching all the old games!”
Supporters can read the full feature in the latest edition of HQ Magazine, where Connor explains the logic, process and ideology behind each design.
