The Wee Hibees beat Hamilton 3-1 at HTC on Monday evening in their final home game of the CAS Elite League campaign.

Goals from Rudi Molotnikov, Josh McDonald and Rueben McAllister secured a comfortable victory for the Hibees at HTC.

The wee Hibees started the better of the two sides applying plenty of early pressure on the Accies defence and took the lead just after the 10-minute mark.

Rory Whittaker did well on the right-hand side before cutting the ball back to Rudi Molotnikov who was left unmarked in the box - the midfielder calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner to give the Hibees the lead.

Shortly after that Hamilton had the ball in the back of the net, however, the Hibs backline was relieved when it was ruled out for offside.

An Accies attacker then had a shot saved from distance before Owen Calder recovered swiftly to clear the danger.

Hamilton grew into the game as the half went on but Darren McGregor's side were holding firm and defending their box well.

However, on the 25-minute mark, Hamilton equalised thanks to an unfortunate deflection off a green and white shirt.

Hibs almost regained their lead instantly as Rudi Molotnikov dragged an effort from range just wide of goal.

The final chance of the half came when Josh McDonald’s curling effort from the edge of the area rebounded back off the woodwork and away to safety.

Hibs did hit the woodwork again right at the start of the second half with Reuben McAllister’s curling effort inches away from finding the corner.

The Hibees did regain the lead five minutes later, however, with Josh McDonald calmly slotted the ball past the Accies keeper from six-yards out.

The visitors did have a few chances of their own after this, however, nothing was too troubling for the Hibs defence.

Despite Hamilton having the better off the ball in the second half, it was Hibs who netted a third when Rueben McAllister rifled in a strike from the edge of the area to put the game to bed.

Jacob MacIntyre nearly added a fourth in the closing stages but a great save denied him, with the Hibees seeing out the remaining few minutes and claiming a well-deserved victory.
