Hibs Interim Head Coach David Gray admitted a draw was probably a fair result after the Hibees closed out the 2023/24 campaign with a point against Livingston.

Myziane Maolida opened the scoring for the Hibees in West Lothian, but Bruce Anderson equalised in the second half in a game where chances were few and far between for both sides.

Speaking to Hibs TV after the match, Gray shared his thoughts on the overall performance.

“I thought we started slowly but credit to Livingston who came out and threw everything at us.

“We looked a bit leggy, we were rushing our decision-making and clearances and we probably tried to play forward too quickly, when we needed to show a bit more composure on the ball.

“Credit to the lads, we showed good resilience to get through that period and as the game went on, we grew into it a bit more.

“We found ourselves ahead with a moment of magic from Myziane and from that moment on it felt like it was two teams that didn’t want to lose the game as opposed to taking a grip of the game.

“We pushed on a bit when they equalised and we looked the more likely team to go on and win the game, but in the end, we didn’t do enough.

“It was one of those games, I have played here many times before and it’s a difficult venue – but it wasn’t a great advert for Scottish football all things considered.”

Gray reserved special praise for the travelling Hibernian FC support who once again turned up in their numbers to support the team in our final game of the campaign.

“The fans were outstanding again, they waited all the way to the end to clap the lads off.

“It is no surprise to me, they have always been supportive during my time over the last 10 years.

They backed us all the way to the end, they supported the team and I don’t expect anything less because they have been like that since I have known them.”
