It was a successful night for Jordan Obita at the Hibernian FC Player of the Year Awards on Sunday evening!
Obita claimed the top prize on the night, winning the Player of the Year Award and also picked up the Player’s Player of the Year award for the 2023/24 campaign – capping off a successful first season at Easter Road.
“It feels really good to win both these awards,” said the left-back after receiving his second prize.
“Everyone has been brilliant with me since I arrived at the Club and have helped me settle in. I have really enjoyed my first season with the Club.
“These are really special awards; I have loved playing for this team, and I have made loads of friends already.”
Since his summer switch, Obita has been virtually ever-present for the Hibees – making 44 appearances and scoring two goals.
When speaking on the awards night, he reflected on his first year in Scotland.
“It was a difficult decision to move up. It was a big move for me and my family because my wife was pregnant at the time. We have never regretted it since we have been here and we’re all looking forward to next season already.
“It has been a really good season for myself, but I definitely think I can do more and hopefully I can prove that next year!”
