There were nine Hibees on international duty across the course of the international break. Read our round-up below!

Scotland U19s – Rudi Molotnikov & Rory Whittaker

Hibernian youngster Rudi Molotnikov continued his excellent start to the 2024/25 campaign with a string of impressive performances for Neil MacFarlane’s Scotland U19s.

The young Scots played three international friendlies out in Spain, with Rudi finding the back of the net in their opening 2-0 victory over Azerbaijan.

The Scots' backed that performance up with a 5-3 victory over the Faroe Islands, with fellow Hibs teenager Rory Whittaker starting the match.

In their final match of the camp, the Scots battled back from 2-0 down against the Netherlands with Rudi scoring twice in the second half to earn a well-deserved draw!

Scotland U21s – Kieron Bowie & Murray Johnson

Bowie and Johnson (currently on loan at Airdrieonians) were both selected for the U21's crucial European qualifiers against Spain and Malta.

Kieron Bowie played the best part of an hour as the Scots fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat to current Group B leaders Spain, whilst Murray Johnson did not feature.

The Scots got back to winning ways four days later with a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Malta. It was a bittersweet evening, though, for Kieron Bowie. He provided an assist for Scotland’s third goal but was forced off moments later with what looked like a hamstring injury. The young forward had a scan on his hamstring earlier today and David Gray will detail the full extent of the injury on Friday.

The Young Scots now face Belgium and Kazakhstan in a crucial double header in October. Scotland sit second in Group B and needs to remain ahead of Belgium if they are to have a chance of qualifying for next summer's European Championship finals in Slovakia.
