Columbus offered Crew SC two city parks as stadium sites

Columbus officials have suggested that Columbus Crew SC could build a new stadium at one of two public parks as they try to find ways to keep the team from moving. Mayor Andrew J. Ginther and Columbus Partnership CEO Alex Fischer met with Crew owner-operator Anthony Precourt and Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber Nov. 15, about a month after the team threatened to move to Austin, Texas, if a Downtown stadium didn’t materialize in Columbus. After that meeting, Garber and Precourt released a statement saying Ginther and Fischer didn’t bring an “actionable plan or legitimate offer,” but on Wednesday the local officials released a letter that detailed ideas they suggested for potential stadium
