The Red Bulls’ biggest rival called their bluff. DC United picked off forward Gonza Gonzalo Veron in stage two of the 2017 MLS Re-Entry Draft Thursday. The Red Bulls were keen on bringing the 27-year-old Argentine forward back next season after the club declined his option following the end of 2017 season. Veron was extremely effective as a second-half substitute for Jesse Marsch in 2017, scoring six goals and three assists in 24 appearances.
